I've been down a bit of a rabbit hole lately.

It started with a simple question:

Who actually owns the brands I love?

From there, one question became ten.

Which companies are Canadian? Which are family-owned? Which quietly support their communities? Which are doing genuinely thoughtful work when it comes to people and the planet?

The more I looked, the more I realized I couldn't find one place that brought these stories together. So... I thought we might build one.

Welcome to The Curious Guide.

This is where we'll explore the stories behind the brands we wear, gift, and recommend. We'll celebrate Canadian companies, discover remarkable independent businesses, highlight thoughtful British and European brands, and learn about organizations whose values make us proud to support them.

From time to time, we'll feature American companies too. Not because of where they're based, but because we believe good work deserves to be recognized wherever we find it.

This isn't about finding perfect companies.

It isn't about telling you what to buy.

It's about asking better questions, sharing what we discover, and helping each other shop with a little more confidence and intention.

A Curious Note

We'll spend a lot of time digging into the stories behind the brands we feature. Ownership changes. Companies evolve. New information comes to light. If you know something we don't, or if a brand's story has changed, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.
